Columbia, MD Wedding Photography {Jelila & Damien}

Jelila & Damien were married last Friday at the Sheraton Columbia Town Center.  They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck, and these two will definitely have good luck for many years to come!  As the venue decided to have the ceremony indoors or out, Jelila stayed cool and collected throughout the afternoon.  She knew the reason she was there was to marry her best friend and enjoyed every moment of their day.  She was absolutely radiant and Damien lit up the moment he saw her walk down the aisle.

I am incredibly grateful to have documented Jelila & Damien's day, here's a small preview!  Congratulations you two!

Jelila's engagement ring along with her something old, a family heirloom on Damien's family's side.

Oh boy, did it rain!!

Jelila & Damian are in a band together and had guests sign vinyls - I thought their rings displayed on them was only appropriate!
What a wonderful day, congratulations again Jelila & Damien!

Patuxent River Nature Preserve | Mother Daughter Portraits

It's hard for me to accept that this beautiful little girl is six years old already!  I have been close with her mom and family for the last 12 years, took her newborn photos, and enjoyed watching her grow up.  It's been a while since I saw her and - whoa - it's like they grow up overnight.

I adore these photos of Ciara and her mom Suzy.  It's an awesome reflection of the women that they are.  Cowgirl boots, their pup Maybelle, and a serene outdoor location.  Patuxent River Nature Reserve is a new local favorite spot for me, such a hidden gem!  We met there at dusk and hung out until the sun was down.

I wish my mom and I had photos like this when I was her age.  I hope it's something they'll treasure for years to come.  Love these two <3

Ciara picked a bouquet for our shoot then gave it to me to take home.  It is currently on the dinner table in water :)
