Tuesday Babe at Grandma's House

Every Tuesday growing up I would to go to my Grandma K's house for the day. To this day my Grandma calls me the "Tuesday Babe." I love it. I still remember many of the trips my brother and I took with my Grandma on our Tuesdays. We would go to the pool, to the park, play hand and foot (a card game), paint pictures, measure our height, make paper dolls from the "D" book of the encyclopedia... there was always a fun activity when we visited on our Tuesdays!

My Grandma has 7 children and she raised all of them in the very same house she lives in today. I LOVE going to visit. Her house is filled with photographs. It's the way I imagine my house will look when I'm older. Photos of aunts, uncles, great aunts and uncles, first and second cousins, great-great grandparents... everyone Family!

The weekend before last we gathered at my grandma's to celebrate birthdays for my Uncle and his Fiancee - their birthdays are only a few days apart. We had perfect fall weather and gathered on the porch to talk while soaking up the sunshine, drinking good wine, and eating good food. There's nothing like family. I am so incredibly lucky to have a large and amazing family. Without a doubt, I would not be the person I am today if I didn't have them in my life.

Counting my blessings...

On to the pictures!

I have always loved this framed embroidery my Grandma has by the front door. It was only after I showed my mother these pictures that I learned she made this for my Grandma a very long time ago. My mom is so crafty!

One of my favorite walls in my Grandma's house. You can see the height measurements of me, my brother, our parents, cousins, aunts and uncles since the 60s!

Grandma's house! Absolutely lovely and filled with history.

On a separate note - I had a session with the Hayes Family this past weekend! I cannot wait to blog these photos! Glued to Photoshop as usual!
...Stay tuned :)

A Beautiful & Delicate Orchid

My boyfriend makes me so happy :) Last weekend, just after I started feeling sick, he came to my house to spend the day with me. In tow, he carried a beautiful Orchid. We weren't celebrating any special occasions and this threw me for a loop! He placed this delicate, stunning, orchid in my hands and told me "I love you." I was in a cloud of bliss for the whole day. It's funny, the effect flowers can have on a girl!

The orchid kept me company while I was sick and brightened each feverish day. As soon as I was well enough, I took it outside for some natural light photos. Hopefully, I can keep it alive and the photos don't end up being a reminder of the Orchid that was!

In my bedroom, getting just the right amount of sunlight.

Reg, I am so thankful to have you in my life. I love you.

The End of Summer... Already?!

It's hard to believe this summer came and went so quick! With the change of the season came the predictable... me... getting sick. Yep, without fail almost every season I manage to get miserably sick. My immune system seems to fail on me every time. All it takes is one little cough, one sneeze, one ity-bity germ and I'm doomed!

Hence, my blog has been neglected.

But, I'm back!

I'd like to share a photo of my mom and a few tomatoes from our garden. Yes, I have shared many photos of the garden and yes, we're very proud of it! :)

Visiting the Farm

Reggie and I took a drive to Pennsylvania to spend some time with our good friend Jackie. Saturday night we camped out on her farm and woke up to beautiful light shining down. Immediately, I ran to the car to grab my camera. I wish I had more time to take photos, but we had a hike to start!

We'll be visiting again during the beginning of next month to celebrate Jackie buying her first home (congrats Jackie!!). I am, as usual, excited for our visit!

Website Revamp!

I have a few big announcements for my little photography business! Today I revamped the website by giving it a new layout. There are new pages with slide shows to showcase engagement, portrait, event and pet photos. I L-O-V-E the format - BIG bold pictures! I also incorporated a clients page where all the photos will be available for puchase.

Second announcement! By the end of the month I hope to include a free backgrounds page to my website. The images will be formatted to fit different screen sizes and you will be able to download them for free! I'll be doing a lot of landscape photography to help add to this section of my website and will update the BLOG when new wallpapers are added to the website.

Looking forward to things to come!

Because a blog post wouldn't be complete without a picture:

Have a GREAT Labor Day Weekend everyone!

Special thanks to Pat for being a great brother and helping to incorporate some new ideas!

I love my House

I have thought of moving to the city... but I just don't think I could do it. There's something about driving from the city to rural Davidsonville that makes me so. very. happy. I let out a satisfying sigh when I come home to all the green, the farms, the open views. It's such a contrast from the concrete city I spend the weekdays in.

Took this from one of my favorite spots in the house: sitting in the bed of my father's pickup truck "Big Blue" :)
