Alexis & Devon {Preview}

A quick preview of the beautiful Alexis & Devon!  Alexis makes being pregnant absolutely lovely, don't you agree??

One of my favorite from the shoot!

I hope you two enjoy your preview!!!  The rest will be along shortly :)

Nothing Like Family

Growing up, I'll admit it, the Holidays were all about the presents!  My brother and I would prepare our wish lists with over-the-top enthusiasm every year.  Then on Christmas Day we would wake up before dawn to get out little fingers on the wrapped goodies under the tree.  How times have changed!  Now, my parents are the first ones awake... they wait patiently for my brother and I to come downstairs.  We chat a little before opening gifts and even take a present opening break (this was unheard of when I was a child) to eat breakfast.

No longer are the Holidays all about the presents.  This year I couldn't wait to see all of my family, under one roof, two days in a row.  My parents are amazing hosts!  Especially my mom - I have to give her most of the credit - sorry Dad!  She spent all day Christmas Eve in the kitchen cooking and preparing.  We held Christmas Eve and Christmas Day at my house and had all the family, both sides, over to celebrate.

My Aunt Marnie said to my father at one point "your home always so warm and inviting."  My dad thanked her and they continued their conversation, but I took a look around and everyone was smiling, talking and enjoying great food with family.  She was right, it was truly warm and inviting, but it wasn't our home, it was the feeling that comes from having everyone together.  I am so thankful for my amazing, loving and supportive family!  I wanted to share a few impromptu family portraits:

My father's side of the family on Christmas Eve
My mom's side on Christmas Day
A few portraits on Christmas
My brother and I.  Apparently taking a photo with me is deserving of a thumbs up, lol
Reggie came by just after dinner to spend some time with my family - we're that cool ;)
Lastly, a self portrait.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday!!  The weekend following Christmas was a total blast... I shot my first maternity session with a great couple.  Those pictures are coming later today!

The Annual Christmas Tree Cutting

I have *phenominal* friends.  I am so thankful to be close to the Ellis family!

They have this great farm near where I live where they grow Christmas trees.  Let me give you an idea of how giving this family is:  this year most of their friends and family couldn't make it down from Pennsylvania to cut down their own trees so... what did they do?  They cut down around 20 trees and hauled them from MD to PA themselves!  That's love!

Reggie and Jackie dragging Reggie's tree to the truck.
Making sure all the trees are secure for the journey to PA!
Of course, Reggie and Jackie got into a snowball fight :)

What a great day :) Thank you Ellis' for our lovely tree!!!

Lily's 1st Birthday!

My neighbor's little one recently turned 1 year old. Seriously.  What an adorable little girl!  She was so fascinated with the moon bounce they had setup in the basement for the party.

We did group photos for all the little ones. I enjoy this one, it makes me smile.  I say, just let the kids be themselves: "Show me your silly faces!!!"
How about this adorable family? Does this have Christmas card written all over it, or what?!

Mayes Family

It's that time of year when everyone is in town for the Holidays!  This has to be my favorite thing about this time of the year.  I am very close with the Mayes family and went over the day after Thanksgiving to do group photos of everyone.  (They even shared their delicious Thanksgiving leftovers with me!!  I will forever be dreaming of the home-made Red Velvet cake!)  Here are a couple of my favorite.

Two sets of twins! What are the odds?
All the female cousins :) So cute, definately my favorite from the day!

Historic London Town and Gardens

A few months ago I met up with an awesome couple at Historic London Town and Gardens in Edgewater, MD for an engagement shoot.  It's a beautiful location for weddings, photo shoots, a walk in their beautiful gardens or just a good history lesson.  London Town was established in 1683, so there's a lot of history here!

I stayed after our shoot to explore the grounds a little.  There are several buildings that will really take you back in time.  Between the e-session and exploring on my own - I'll tell you - my memory card was completely full by the time I left that day!

This is the cool house that I was able to walk into and explore on my own :)
Well maintained grounds!  They even had (relatively) fresh produce laid out.
An aged look.
The dried flowers were just beautiful
This is The William Brown House which was an upscale inn for people traveling across the South River via ferry in the 1700s.  *ahem* notice the speed boat on the river -
definately brings us back to reality!
It was the first time I saw this sailboat located here.  It provided a beautiful backdrop for engagement photos.... as well as a great focal point for this photo.

Obviously, I love this place.  I have been able to develop some great memories here.  Did I mention this is where my good friends got married??  Just lovely :)

New CD Packaging

I am very excited about the new CD Packaging! In an effort to keep my little business green, all products are made from 100% recycled fibers.

Inside is your CD along with a couple extra business cards so that you can refer friends!! ;)
And it all comes wrapped up pretty in a natural green fiber.  I have received a lot of positive feedback on the packaging thus far - I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

CDs are priced based on the number of final images. It's a great option if you'd prefer digital images of the whole shoot. Plus, you have the option to have prints made using the digital negatives :)
