My Poor MacBook

My poor baby...  I miss it so much!

Late last week I had to take my MacBook into the Apple store... *sigh*    Any time it was moved the screen would look like it was having a digital virus attack... then completely freeze.  This scared me so much and I lost a good amount of work the first time it happened :(  I had been working with it on a stable surface for some time but decided it was about time to get it fixed.  I need to be mobile!!

Long story short... my baby has been sent off for a check-up and probably replacement parts.  Thank goodness for Apple Extended Warranty!  :)

Oh a happier note, I met yesterday with the beautiful Alexis and Devon... and their new addition Ty  :)  What a handsome little man he is!

Hope to be up-and-running SOON!

Re-discovering Macro

When I first became serious about photography my inital loves were macro and landscape photography.  Since being snowed in I have been able to get re-acquainted with my Macro 100 mm lens :)

This little guy is my mother's air plant.  She has owned it since we lived in our house in Bowie 10 years ago.  My grandparents came over recently and my Grandpa told my mother she should be watering it more frequently... 2 weeks after she started spritzing it with water once a day and it actually bloomed!  We've had this little plant for over 10 years and it's the first time it's bloomed.
Grandpa was right! Now we have one very happy little air plant :)
The pinks and purples against the green is so lovely.
I love it when our Christmas Cactus blooms.  So pretty!

And... of course... a little pop of GREEN!  I love this with the red curtains in the background and highlighted by the window light.

Snow... and more snow!

This last week has brought us more snow than I ever thought possible!  Typing this, like so many of you, I'm snowed in yet again!  We're certainty not used to this type of weather in the DC area.  But I have been making the most of my time off :)

Much of the time, however, has been spent digging out:
The snow blower was the investment of the year! It saved everyone a lot of back-breaking labor :) I highly suggest purchasing one of these bad-boys.
Umm... where's my car?
Rear-wheel drive Mustang... not the best in the winter snow!
Our winter white house
I hope everyone is staying warm and keeping safe in this winter weather.
